It’s nearly time for Pop to get up and I want to feed the cows and chooks before I have to feed him.

Dear S, Jack and Brady,

Well it will be very close to Brady’s 2nd birthday when you get this and I do hope the parcel I sent a week ago arrived in time and that she likes the pyjamas, will be a bit big but I was looking ahead when I bought them.

Pop is gradually getting better, it’s a slow process but the doctor keeps telling us it was a very big operation, especially for a person of Pop’s age so we just accept things.  He goes back to his doctor today.  Pop can now drive the car again so that means a lot.

Pop’s twin sisters will be 80 in August and we have been invited to a get together at the Riverslea Pub from 12 to 3 o’clock and then to one of their son’s houses.  Pop and I intend to go to the pub and then come home as it will be a big day for Pop but will be also be a big milestone for the twins. Both are widows and live opposite one another.

Three of my pullets are laying, it’s lovely to get our own fresh eggs again.  Won’t be long before the fourth pullet lays.  One of them lays a double yoker now and again, it’s one of the white ones. We have heard that McDonald’s are to open a shop in Lakes Entrance.  If that happens it will be hard on so many of the small take away shops.  Small business shops were really hit hard when “Safeway” came to town, we now have 14 empty shops because of them. So McDonald’s being such a popular take away food chain so one can expect many take away shops to be hit hard.  They advertise it brings a lot more work to the town but it’s often only the ones that have lost their jobs at the smaller shops that get work.

Well I must close it’s nearly time for Pop to get up and I want to feed the cows and chooks before I have to feed him.

x Love from Nana and Pop x
