I have succumbed entirely to this remote-activated romance. What can I say? I want to be loved.

J’s Diary Entry

Monday, 17 July 1995

Had an odd sort of day, full of ups and downs. I woke early and got to Collins Place at 8:30am, so I had time to leisurely drink my cappuccino and read the Herald-Sun.

Was in a good mood, working solidly until Caitlin came in and enlightened Simon and I with the news that all Company Secretaries of public companies are to be included in this edition of “Who the Fuck Cares”. They wait until now, two months into keying to tell us! That fouled both Simon’s and my mood for an hour or so until we cheered ourselves up by mercilessly lampooning Noah as he garrulously entertained some football coach, I think it was Kevin Sheedy.  Then Simon went and paid for his airline ticket and Contiki Tour. That got him excited, he’s definitely going now. Then Mary decided to buy biscuits for the tea-room – JOY!   We pigged out.

Both Simon and I stayed late, he left around 6pm, I didn’t leave until 10pm. I dunno, the working mood was upon me, I guess.  Maybe it’s self discipline season again, I did do sit-ups and push-ups this morning. I want to look OK for Chloe.  These past two days I have succumbed entirely to this remote-activated romance. What can I say? I want to be loved.
