And that sort of thing just doesn’t happen here.

Dear S and Jack,

Was beaut to get your cards from France, you sure did enjoy your trip and gee it was good to hear all about it.  Did you go by that new tunnel under the water?

Your English weather will be at its best now, the last couple of mornings we’ve had very heavy frosts.  It’s been many years since we’ve had such heavy frost, the outside taps were frozen, we couldn’t even turn them on and the temperature was only 1 degree.  Yesterday morning as soon as it was light enough I hung the washing on the line at 6:45am and when I was hanging the second load out at about 8 o’clock the first lot was frozen stiff and that sort of thing just doesn’t happen here.

I was talking to your Dad he’s in Mossman just up from Cairns last night on the phone and he said their night temperature was 14 degrees so he’ll notice a difference when he gets back home.

You will be missing your mum as I s’pose she is on her way to Queensland as it is Louise’s wedding on Saturday – do hope the weather is nice for them.

I’ve had a health problem and last week surgeon investigated, he removed 2 tumors and the pathology tests came back good, so hope all will be right now.  Pop now has hearing aids in both ears but he cannot cope with them, he says the noise in his head is terrible when he speaks.

My sister Jean is very busy sorting things out since Uncle Colin’s passing, she is going to sell the house and probably move into Morwell, not much selling out here at present but one never knows, she’s not in a hurry just yet, but wants to get things on the move, clean out the shed and the like.

Do hope that you are still enjoying your job S.

x Love from Nana and Pop x
